XXXL condoms

XXXL condoms are the biggest widths you can buy, running from 69 to 72 mm in nominal width. They fit an erect girth of roughly 15.5 cm (6.10 in) or above, going by the Mister Size girth table.

The size on the box is the nominal width: how wide the condom is when you lay it flat, measured at its narrowest point, as Mister Size explains. Double it and you get roughly the distance around it. If a condom is sold in the EU, the packet has to show this figure, so you know it before paying.

The biggest condoms you can buy

The top width from a named brand belongs to the MY.SIZE PRO 72, which measures 72 mm. Below that, a few different brands offer 69 mm options.

Width is measured across the condom while it lies flat, and it is the number each brand prints on the box. Tap a product name to see where its figures come from.

To put that in perspective, Durex UK sells its regular fit at 56 mm and its wide fit at 57 mm. Okamoto's standard fit sits at 52 mm. Laid flat, a 69 mm condom is more than a centimetre wider than those.

Who are 69 mm condoms for?

According to the Mister Size chart, 69 mm condoms are meant for girths from 15.5 cm (6.10 in) upward. Girth is the measurement all the way around the penis.

That sits well above average. Durex, quoting the NHS, puts typical erect girth between 12 and 13 cm. A study covering 4,685 young Italian men put the average at 12.03 cm.

Mister Size 69s come in at 0.06 mm thick, a touch thicker than the 0.05 mm used in the smaller sizes of the range.

The widest option: 72 mm

The MY.SIZE PRO 72 is the only 72 mm condom in the sources we looked at. That's 3 mm more than the 69 mm choices. The Mister Size chart tops out at 69 mm, so it offers no girth range of its own for 72 mm. If the 69 mm still pinches or rides up, 72 mm is the next size to try.

What about 65 mm?

None of the manufacturer sources we checked listed a 65 mm condom. Mister Size makes sizes either side of it, at 64 mm and 69 mm.

The ISO 4074 standard for condoms allows the real width to come out up to 2 mm above or below the stated figure. So in practice, a 64 mm condom and a 65 mm one may end up nearly the same.

Measuring your girth

Condom sizing works from erect measurements, so wait until you're fully hard before measuring.

  1. Get hold of a soft tape measure, some string, or a paper strip.
  2. Wrap it one time round the shaft where it's thickest, which for most men is just below the head.
  3. With string or paper, mark the point where it crosses itself, then lay it against a ruler to read the length.
  4. Match your number to the girth table to pick the right width.

Skip the toilet-roll trick you may have seen online. It only roughly matches a standard size and is far too small to help at XXXL girths, so a soft tape or a piece of string is the better choice.

How to tell when a condom is the wrong size

Your condom ought to sit a little tighter than your girth so it holds its place. Durex warns that a bad fit makes breakage and slipping more likely.

  • Too small: it pinches, rides up or tears.
  • Too big: it slides or gathers in folds.

These signs come from Condom Depot. Spot any of them and try one size larger or smaller.

Length of XXXL condoms

ISO 4074 sets a floor for length: no tested condom may come in under 160 mm. Of the wide condoms here, the Trojan Naturalamb measures 165 mm and the Pasante Super King 210 mm. You may see Trojan Magnum suggested as a big option, but Trojan says it's for a penis at least 7.1 inches long and 4.75 inches around, which is well below XXXL girth. Check the width printed on the box before you rely on it.
