Extra small condoms

The narrowest condoms on the market are the extra small ones, which come in nominal widths of 45 mm and 47 mm. Nominal width means half the circumference, taken at the narrowest point of the condom. So a 47 mm condom measures roughly 94 mm around.

In the 45 mm width you'll find MyONE 45 together with MY.SIZE PRO 45. The 47 mm width is made by MyONE, Mister Size and Ritex.

XS condoms by brand

These are the condoms made in the two narrowest widths. If you're buying in the EU, the width has to be printed on the pack, so it's easy to check before you buy.

All are latex. Width is measured across the condom while it lies flat, and it is the number each brand prints on the box. Tap a product name to see where its figures come from.

The smallest sizes you can buy

The narrowest width here is 45 mm, offered by MyONE and by MY.SIZE under their PRO line. After that comes 47 mm.

A 47 mm condom fits an erect girth between 9.5 and 10 cm, according to Mister Size. One size up, 49 mm, suits a girth of 10–10.5 cm.

How to measure a slim girth

Your girth is the distance round the widest part of the erect penis, and condom sizing always uses erect measurements. Here is how to measure yours:

  1. Take a soft tape or a length of string and wrap it round the shaft at its thickest point, normally just under the head.
  2. With string, note where the ends overlap, then hold it against a ruler.
  3. Compare your number with the Mister Size girth guide.

The condom needs to sit a touch tighter than the penis to stay put, says ONE.

For context, a study following 4,685 young Italian men put average erect circumference at 12.03 cm. Durex, quoting the NHS, puts the figure at 12–13 cm. So a girth below 10 cm sits well under the average.

The 45 mm options

At 45 mm wide, these are about 90 mm around, the narrowest widths listed here. MyONE 45 and MY.SIZE PRO 45 are the two to look for.

The 47 mm options

Ritex 47, MyONE 47 and Mister Size 47 are all 47 mm wide. Ritex gives a circumference of 94 mm for its 47, compared with the 106 mm of its standard condom.

Mister Size produces its sizes from 47 to 60 at a thickness of 0.05 mm.

How to tell if a condom fits

A condom that's too loose may slide off during sex. Durex notes that a poor fit makes both breaking and slipping more likely.

Pinching, rolling up or breaking usually points to a condom that's too small. Slipping or bunching usually means it's too big, Condom Depot explains.

If standard condoms have never felt right, you're far from alone. ONE says standard sizes are too loose for about 30% of people.

Narrow doesn't mean short: under the international condom standard, no condom tested for length may measure under 160 mm, and Ritex 47, for example, is 175 mm long.
